With baby boomers approaching retirement, and many serving as caregivers for their own elderly
parents, the need for in-home healthcare has
never been greater. It is imperative now to have caregivers knowledgeable and trained in dementia to provide assistance to the aging population.

will be offering a seminar in “Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar”
As a caregiver, be prepared and increase your knowledge by, taking the path to certification as a “Certified Dementia Practitioner”
through the “National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners”.
This course will provide fundamental education on dementia and dementia care.
Identify common causes of aggressive, repetitive and sundowning behaviors in adults.
Define various types of behaviors and care interventions that may be used to prevent or reduce difficult care situations.
Identify challenges related to caregivers’ stress and provide stress reduction techniques.
Learn various types of communication techniques.
Learn sensitive approaches to assisting patients with activities of daily living.
Discover alternative activity interventions that are success oriented and failure free.
Cost: $195.00 per person
Cancellation Fee: $75.00
Each student will receive Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia Handout Notebook $25.00 not included in the cost.
