With baby boomers approaching retirement, and many serving as caregivers for their own elderly parents, the need for in-home healthcare has never been greater. It is imperative now to have caregivers to be knowledgeable and trained in dementia to provide assistance to the aging population.
In the world of Dementia caregiving there are no normal standards for providing care, it is critical for caregivers to have the knowledge to support, promote safety and motivate our loved ones suffering with dementia thru their journey.
This specialized training provides trained staff the ability to provide a better quality of life to patients and their families, thereby increasing productivity and job satisfaction.
This service will be targeted at Assisted Living Facilities, Nursing Homes, Adult Day Care, Senior Centers, Home Health Agencies, Home Care Agencies, Hospitals, Hospice Agencies and Police Departments in the local areas. The completion of the course will provide individual with certification as Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP).

This course will provide fundamental education on dementia and dementia care.
Identify common causes of aggressive, repetitive and sundowning behaviors in adults.
Define various types of behaviors and care interventions that may be used to prevent or reduce difficult care situations.
Identify challenges related to caregivers’ stress and provide stress reduction techniques.
Learn various types of communication techniques.
Learn sensitive approaches to assisting patients with activities of daily living.
Discover alternative activity interventions that are success oriented and failure free.
Obtain certificate of attendance in seminar
